Sitting in a Cloud

LO and I were on a massive return mission following my blitz Israel trip. Wandering through the hallways from one return destination to the other, weary and exhausted, we came to an oasis of vibrant color and the most cloud like sitting spaces - the Yogibo store.

It really was amazingly comfy - comfier, in fact, than my super styling couch, but that is a whine for another time.

Turns out we both knew about the brand from before - LO already bought one for her girl-child; while I saw their bean bags at a 'life-style' outdoor fair in Ra'anana with Ripple. Yes, it is an Israeli company. I remember thinking then of stuffing a bean bag in my suitcase only to deem the idea futile. Well, they made it here having undergone some changes to fit the US market.  And the stuff is fantastic (not just the beanbags either - I WANT those red baskets above).

All I need is a play room for the kids and I am getting two, one for each child, like this one:
Yep, I couldn't resist posting an orange one..

The super nice store manager even promised a discount of 10% for anyone from Vestments!

Anna's Note: This is not a paid endorsement. Just an honest private obsession.

Styling Creative Professionals - Victory!

N. aka Nataly Kogan, the superwoman behind Happier, aka 'the client' with a hankering for all things orange  shot her first TV appearance yesterday. A segment for the Doctors, the daytime with hot MDs. And guess what she wore??? Guess what the producers of the show ok-ed her to wear?

One of my orange finds!!!

Here's the outfit in detail, ladies:

An Akris/Punto dress from Saks Fifth (illustrating how different colors are on the computer vs. under the million watts on a TV set):

Sophia Webster shoes, likewise from Saks:

And that's all she wrote. Or pulled, as the case may be.  My first big time, bona fide success, ladies, and I am speechless.

Styling Creative Professionals II

Or: One More Orange Assignment.

This time I'm on the hunt for orange blouses, tops, Ts.

Add Marni to the list of designers I adore. Consuelo Casitglioni specializes in smart, unusual, and interesting. This is not clothing for the lovers of skin tight and conformist. Something is always just a bit off in her designs. One of the favorite items in my personal 'collection' is an orange skirt by Marni I once got in an amazing Ebay deal, and it bunches interestingly on the side.  Anyway. Here's a Marni item:

1.

2. This I loved for the vibrancy of color, pure and simple:
3. Same goes for its twin, this:

4. As well as this

5. This offers some visual interest at the neckline, always important in interviews:
6. And this:

7. As does this, albeit via different means:

8. And this:

9. Not too shabby:

10. This has something lovely about it:

11. And finally this does have a nice neckline:

In Praise of the Color Orange - Scarves (Last & Final)

Ladies, the one item in our wardrobe where color is the easiest to incorporate, which we can remove and hide away with ease no matter how small the bag we are carrying - the scarf.

Oddly enough there were few truly excellent orange scarves. Here's what I've come up with:

The best - McQ:

Styling Creative Proffesionals

N. needed to create looks for the many appearances she has coming up - some TV,  talks, meetings. The guidlines were simple:
- clean, strong lines
- a bit edgy, to mirror her personal style
- feminine but not frilly
- every outfit needed to have a punctuation by way of an orange element.

SaksFifth was geographically desirable.

All in all, I think it was a successful hunt.  Here's what we've come up with:

Look 1:
3.1 Philip Lim - a complete look that can be separated into a top and a skirt, basic black but with a point of visual interest thanks to the perforation and the strong shoulder line:
Earrings:

I would suggest pairing with orange shoes to amp things up.

Look 2:
Top 3.1 Philiip Lim:
Skirt: DVF:

Shoes, Sophia Webster - notice the orange line!:
Necklace:

Look 3:
Top, Rebecca Taylor:

Rag & Bone Jumpsuit:

Same shoes as above. Total hotness. Pair with a black blazer and you have smooth professionalism with a creative twist. And that is what all these looks are about.

In Praise of the Color Orange - 5

Funky!:

Studs 2:

Either of these, with their pop of color:
Coral, the natural signifier for the color in a pair that is  expensive. Yet stunning:
Likewise, carnelian is nature's orange gem:
Not cheap, ahem, but looove:

cute:
a bit of blue makes the orange pop out:

classic 70s throwback:
I love the use of out-of -left-field materials and the inventiveness:

Thanks to Anonymous for reminding me of my one of my favorite Israeli designers, Orna Lalo, who often works with orange:
